WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES

This time last year, I was pretty frustrated. And not having a good day.

One year later, I am having about as happy an anniversary as I could ever hope. I can't believe I have been married for four years! Some days, it feels as though it was only yesterday we exchanged our vows. Other days, I cannot remember a time that Anthony wasn't in my life.

All I know is, through all the ups and downs, what we have works. It works for me, it works for him, it works for us.

We both signed cards from ourself "and Amanda" and in both cases, it truly touched the other to see that "and Amanda" there in writing.

We are in love. We are a family. We already love our daugher more than words could ever convey.

What a difference one year makes.

AT A LOSS

Much like many of my blogging friends, I haven't been posting, due to Katrina. Not because I couldn't - being in Boston the most of Katrina I saw was some clouds and a rain shower in the middle of last week. I haven't posted because what can I possibly blog about right now?

Updates on my pregnancy?
Details on how the nursery is coming along?
Other absurd and inane banter?

The tragedy unfolding in our south is beyond words. Certainly beyond any eloquent words I could ever choose.

I am at a loss at what I can possibly do to help, to make some small difference. All I can say at this point in my blog is, please give money. I made my donation through the Red Cross last week. I am not about to get up on a soap box - there has been enough of that already going on - but if you have a bed to sleep in at night, and four dry walls surrounding you and keeping the elements from getting at you, then you are a billionaire in the eyes of the hurricane victims.

Give whatever you can. Even $10 will buy some bottled water for some people.

Because I would hope and pray that if the situation were reversed and I was the one in need of help, that my fellow Americans would do the same.

Wouldn't they?
