Amanda Marie is HERE!

Hi everyone,
This is Dawn's sister, Cheryl. I'm very pleased to be able to tell you all that Amanda was born at 6:13 this evening (7lbs, 1 ounce). She is beautiful, healthy, and looking like she might be a blonde! ;) Dawn and Anthony are ecstatic (though exhausted). She was induced early this morning, and though she says she is surprised at how smoothly things went - it was still quite a long day for them both.

I'm posting a few pictures here, but if you would like to see the rest of what I have right now follow this link.

...AND WAITING

Quick update - ultrasound went well, they estimate that Amanda weighs approximately 7 pounds, 3 ounces right now. I was relieved to hear that she isn't over nine pounds!

So we're still status-quo. Tomorrow night, 12/7, we report to the hospital at 7:30PM for Cervidil. Thursday morning, 12/8, they will begin the pitocin.

Shortly after that (hopefully shortly), our 3 1/2 year quest to have a child will come to fruition.

As shitty as I feel, as much complaining as I have done about being late, I can hardly believe the moment is almost here. Is that weird, to feel both ways? That this has been the longest pregnancy EVER, and also to feel that I can't believe I am ALREADY going to have a baby? It is a strange, but wonderful feeling, to say the least.

Stay tuned!

STILL WAITING

Lest anyone think anything has changed, it hasn't. I'm still home, I'm still pregnant.

I was telling people yesterday that clearly this kid is my daughter, as she has already picked up my bad habit of showing up very late for important events.

We've got an ultrasound today at 3:00PM, just to make sure there is still enough amniotic fluid for Mandy to keep hanging out inside me. I am convinced they will tell me "she's fine" and send us home once again. We both feel strongly that we will not be having this baby until I am induced on Thursday.

Obviously, if anything changes, you'll all know soon enough. But don't hold your breath!!!!!
